Cabinas Capulín

 Is a cluster of 8 beautiful wooden cabins in a peaceful, natural setting, with stunning views of the cloud forest and the Nicoya Gulf. Our cabins are located on a small, family-run farm, which is convenient to all of the tourist attractions in Santa Elena (< 1 Km) and Monteverde (<3 Km), yet away from the noise and crowds. The name of our cabins, ‘Capulín’, comes from a small, beautiful tree that is common on our farm and attracts many fruit-eating birds. Surrounded by nature and tranquility, our cabins offer the perfect opportunity to relax, watch birds and other wildlife, hike through the forest, and enjoy the fresh mountain air and sunset views.

 

 

 

Our cabins range in size from small private cabins (with space for 2-5 guests), to bungalows (3-7 guests), to a small, two-storey mountain house (for 7 people), located in a tranquil, natural setting. All of our cabins have beautiful woodwork, bathrooms with hot water, and terraces or balconies with views of the cloud forests and Nicoya gulf. In addition, four of our cabins have fully equipped kitchens (with stove, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker) to allow guests to cook their own food. We also offer delicious Costa Rican breakfast service to guests in our ‘Soda’ (small café). For groups of 8 people or more, we can also provide dinner service upon request.

 

Our cabins are a small, family-run business. Our Costa Rican family (parents + 5 siblings) has resided in the Monteverde region since the 1950’s, and has traditionally dedicated itself to dairy farming and agriculture. A few years ago, we decided to build countryside cabins so that tourists could experience the beauty and tranquility of our farm and use the cabins as a home base for exploring the region. We really enjoy having guests at our cabins and are happy to help with any travel or tourist arrangements. Most of our family can speak some English, but you are welcome to also practice your Spanish.
